Saudi student wins bronze at Maths Olympiad
(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi students won a bronze medal and a letter of appreciation in the International Mathematics Olympiad in Belarus held on April 14-20. The Kingdom got the 17th place out of 30 participating countries.
Abdulrahman Al-Qaweez director-general of the International Olympiad in the Foundation of King Abdulaziz and his men for Talent and Creativity (Mawhiba) said: 'This participation came as represented by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with Mawheba and they are working within a unified system with the goal of creating a knowledge-based economy.'
Al-Qaweez said that the scientific team consisted of three girl students. The first Shadaan bin Khalaf Al Shamari from Hael won a bronze m anbu got certificate of appreciation.
This was the third time the Kingdom participated in such a competition with the first being in 2012 when it came on the 15th spot out of 19 participating countries. In 2014 it emerged 25th out of 29 countries.
