Sharjah Airport Free Zone signs MoU with Microsoft


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, SAIF Zone, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft for cooperation in the field of information systems and technology and the development of electronic services and to raise awareness of intellectual property rights, IPR.

The MoU was signed by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, HFZA, and Jawad AL Redha, Regional Director of Public Sector, Microsoft, at a ceremony held at SAIF Zone headquarters.

The signing of this Memorandum is meant to strengthen cooperation in the field of information technology that will employ Microsoft's expertise in providing the latest technology and practical training to the staff of the free zone. The move will increase awareness of intellectual property and the definition of their rights. In addition, the new step will boost technical and cognitive support in operating key government service systems.

The two parties will also work to organise conferences on information technology in SAIF Zone.

"The signing of this MoU with Microsoft is part of our ongoing efforts in the field of information and smart services which we devised and implemented to promote the services offered to our investors, individuals and companies. This will help to simplify and speed up the procedures and to achieve satisfaction by enabling them to access services and aid in the completion of transactions in real time via electronic applications compatible with the operating systems," Al Mazrouei elaborated after the signing ceremony.

Jawad Al Redha expressed the readiness of the company to contribute to the technological support for all as required by the body, saying, "The signing of this agreement confirms our commitment to cooperate with the various sectors of government. There are many opportunities and areas of cooperation offered by the signing of this agreement which we can provide expertise in."
