Papua To Build Railway Transport System In 2017

JAYAPURA April 24 2015–Papua Provincial Government will begin to build Railway Transport System in 2017 to overcome isolation problem in the region.

According to Head of the Agency for Regional Development Acceleration (BP2KP) Omah Laduani Ladamay in Jayapura Thursday (4/23/2015) the Central Government and Papua Provincial Government will begin an initial assessment for the railway transport system development this year. 
 

“We expect the groundbreaking of the project to be done in 2017 after performing the feasibility study in 2015” he added.

In order to overcome the isolation problem in Papua Omah Laduani added new breakthroughs are necessary for the sake of progress in the region including the development of railway transport system.

“The central government already has a plan to build Papua’s railway transport system but Governor Lukas Enembe expects the railway development to start from Jayapura” he said. Read more..
