Semen Gresik Record Sales 1.79 Million Tons In East Java

SURABAYA April 24 2015—Semen Gresik a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia Tbk. recorded sales of 1.79 million in East Java in March 2015 or 3.4% lower than 1.86 million tons in 2014.

From such sales Malang and Pasuruan absorbed 235.8 tons with a market share of 76%.

Semen Gresik Head of Sales Department Bambang Djoko said East Java is the second province with the highest cement consumption in Java Island behind West Java with 1.95 million tons.

“In 2015 there are a number of cement brands circulating in East Java. This tight market competition is forcing us to strengthen product branding to the public” he said in a press release obtained by Indonesia Business Daily Thursday (4/23/2015).

In order to increase the cement uptake the company organizes customer gathering for Malang and Pasuruan areas at Singhasari Hotel in Malang Wednesday (4/22/2015).  

He said this strategy was expected to increase Semen Gresik’s market share to 77% in the same region.

“We are optimistic to reach the target along with the growth of property and the start of infrastructure projects from the government in this region” he added.

Semen Gresik sales in Malang and Pasuruan reached 612.5 tons in 2014. With the assumption of cement growth at 6% the sales in 2015 are projected to reach 646.2 tons.

“The sales in Malang and Pasuruan contributed 13.7% to Semen Gresik’s sales for East Java in overall” he added. Read more..
