JAKARTA April 24 2015— Ministry of Transportation is going to put five locations from port feasibility study conducted by Japan International Cooperation Agency as a substitute to Cilamaya.
Director General of Sea Transportation Bobby R. Mamahit said that those five locations were chosen out of totally nine locations resulted from the feasibility study by JICA as supporting port for Tanjung Priok.
“It’s from Tarumajaya to Indramayu clearly Cilamaya has been put aside” he said Wednesday (4/23/2015).
Those nine locations are Kalibaru in North Jakarta Marunda in Jakarta Marunda Center Jakarta Tarumajaya Muara Gembong in Bekasi Cilamaya in Karawang Ciasem in Subang Tangerang and Bojonegara in Banten.
The ministry allocates IDR25 billion for the feasibility study in seeking a new port replacing Cilamaya.
“We have spent IDR25 billion maximally. If there is any surplus it will be returned to the state treasury” he explained.
He also said that the feasibility study should be conducted by local consultant because the budget sourced from the State budget.
The process to choose consultant has to wait the budget revision so that the tender possibly will be in May 2015.
If the feasibility study will be started in June it is ensured to be finished next month as it only deepens the previous study.
According to him the minister will seek the safe area from any oil and gas exploration.
“There are five to six locations which would be reviewed and focusing on free oil and gas area" he said.
Bobby said that there would be delay on operation target of the new port which became the part of supporting port for Tanjung Priok.
He predicts that the operation of the new port will be one year delay. The government previously targeted the new port would be done and operating in 2020.
In the previous plan the port construction will be started in 2017 and take 5 years to complete. Read more..
