Iwapi To Launch Abon Industry In South Sulawesi

MAKASSAR April 24 2015— Indonesian Business Woman Association  (Iwapi) in South Sulawesi is going to launch shredded fish industry at Pattingalloang Village Sub district of Ujung Tanah Makassar.

Chairman of the association Ida Noer Haris said the shredded fish or known as abon industry was managed by fishermen’s wife and mentored by the association.

“The inauguration is planned to be in April 30 and attended by Ministry of Woman's  Empowerment  and Child Protection Yohana Susana Yembise”she said Thursday (4/23/2015).

According to her the association also makes an inisiative and  monitors  over the organic vegetables planting.

Besides it also plans to promote tourism culture and Small Medium Enterprise which will be working together with provincial government and managed professionally.

Ida said that in May 25-28 it would bring handicraft products from South Sulawesi to Asean Business Woman Conference in Malaysia. Earlier the association had initiated Iwapi Mart program which has involved the local.

“We actually had initiated Iwapi mart since five years ago but it’s hard for us to find the location with cheap price. The initial capital is quite big moreover it involves public and needs a dissemination” she said.

Meanwhile Governor of South Sulawesi Syahrul Yasin Limpo said Iwapi has contributed to province economic growth. "Iwapi at least has contributed  a lot by presenting businewomen in both home industry or trade sector" he said. Read more..
