Heightened vigil at port, airport to stop shoddy goods


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) During a fortnight-long campaign recently, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with the Customs Authority, caught a large amount of substandard imported goods.

According to a press release from the ministry, among the seized goods were expired food that had turned stale, low-quality clothes with no country of origin marked, and substandard electrical appliances.

The ministry said it urges people to inform it via its hotline (8005000) or email (info@mec.gov.qa) if they come across such violations.
