PM visits northern town to check on public service, locals' conditions
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, on Wednesday, visited the northern Irbid district of Bani Kenana and met with dignitaries, officials and locals to check on public services and the local community's needs.
Leading a 14-minister team, the prime minister said Bani Kenanah hosts about 20,000 Syrian refugees comprising 20 percent of its population. He added there are 1.4 million Syrian refugees in Jordan placing a massive burden on the national economy.
Ensour said the Kingdom was the most affected country by the Syria crisis which he said is unlikely to come to an end in the near future. Despite living hardships, the prime minister stressed preserving civil peace remains utmost priority.
However, the minister warned that regional circumstances should not be used as a pretext for weak management or negligence of national priorities.
