Lebanon to use alternative maritime export route via Aqaba Port


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Lebanese cabinet will study options to open an alternative maritime export routes to Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, Lebanese sources said.

Minister of Agriculture, Akram Chehayeb, told Petra's reporter in Beirut before the cabinet meeting, that the government will discuss opening an alternatives maritime export route via Jordan's Red Sea Port of Aqaba due to the closure of Nasib crossing with Syria.

The Lebanese government has approved one million dollar to bring back Lebanese truck drivers stranded in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq after of the closure of the land crossings, the minster added.
