Kuwait's KIPCO Supports Global Vaccination Program

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KIPCO - the Kuwait Projects Company - and its Group companies have made a contribution to a worldwide vaccination program created by Gavi - a global vaccine alliance. This global outreach initiative seeks to create awareness among young people on vital vaccination programs to combat the spread of diseases.

Gavi's initiative brings together the public and private sectors to create equal access to vaccines for children across the world's poorest countries. Together with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the two organizations work to accelerate developing countries' access to vaccines and support research into health solutions that are effective, affordable and sustainable.

Young Kuwaitis will work to raise a sum of $250,000 to vaccinate and save more than 10,000 children around the world. To support this initiative and raise awareness about this crucial matter, an open market event will be held on Saturday, April 25, at SIRBB Circuit in Shuwaikh.

Ms Eman Al Awadhi, KIPCO's Group Communications Director, said:

"We are delighted to be contributing to one of the world's most successful vaccination programs. Vaccines have proven to be an essential component of the overall healthcare process in needy countries, and by providing the right treatment, children around the world are more likely to attend school and grow up to become productive members of their communities.

As part of our approach, KIPCO continues to encourage its companies to leverage opportunities that demonstrate the breadth of the Group's social responsibility framework. Burgan Bank, Gulf Insurance Group, United Real Estate, KAMCO, Qurain Petrochemical Industries, United Networks, Kuwait Hotels Company and United Education Company are amongst the lead contributors to this important initiative."
