(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Drydocks World and Maritine World, the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, have been recognised at the ADNOC HSE awards for bringing safety and environment benefits to the industry in partnership with the National Drilling Company, NDC.
The award ceremony was held at the InterContinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi on April 21st with numerous national companies in attendance, including ADGAS, ADNATCO-NGSCO, ZADCO, NDC and GASCO.
Drydocks World received the award for its utilisation of Chariot Robotics for hydro-blasting on vessels' hulls, which helps in reducing pollution while offering consistent quality and increased efficiency. The technology replaces the usage of certain lethal chemicals with environmentally friendly ones and uses fully automated covered grit blasting chambers with a dust extraction system and grit recycling system. The shipyard has also implemented automatic covered painting chambers with four seasons' temperature controlled de-humidification and vacuum cleaning facilities.
Drydocks World consistently aims to enhance awareness of green and renewable energy technology, maintaining the best in global sustainable practices to contribute to strengthening Dubai's initiatives related to green energy. Drydocks World has earned widespread recognition for the environmental initiatives launched in the yard, receiving several distinctive awards.
The ADNOC HSE awards aim to enhance awareness among companies and their staff through recognising outstanding achievements in HSE. The ADNOC awards programme annually honours organisations efforts towards innovation, sustainability, occupational health and safety and environmental groups, choosing winners who exemplify excellence in their category.
