S. Korea's auto exports amount to USD10.2b in Q1


(MENAFN) Customs data showed that auto exports by South Korean automakers plunged in the first-quarter period amid an increase in foreign luxury car imports, Xinhua reported.

The country's auto exports amounted to USD10.2 billion in the January-March period, with a total of 720,000 units sold, dropping 10.1 percent from a year ago, Korea Customs Service said.

Meanwhile, imports of foreign luxury cars surged 35.9 percent compared to a year earlier, reaching USD2.3 billion, or 70,000 vehicles, in the three months ending March 31.
