China's auto sales to top 25m unit in 2015


(MENAFN) Vice president of China Association of Automobile Manufactures (CAAM) said the country's auto sales are expected to exceed 25 million units in 2015, Xinhua reported.

Sales of passenger vehicles are expected to stand at 21.2 million units, up 8 percent from a year earlier, while sales of commercial vehicles may increase 2.4 percent year on year to 3.88 million units.

CAAM also forecast that in 2015, sales of vehicles will rise 1 percent to 12.5 million units, those of SUVs will increase 25 percent to 5.1 million units and those of MPVs will rise to 2.58 million units, up 35 percent.

The world's second-largest economy's auto sales maintained an average annual increase of 24.1 percent from 2001 to 2010. The rate slowed to 6.8 percent from 2011 to 2014, according to CAAM.
