Coast Guard holds graduation ceremony for eight courses


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security held a graduation ceremony for eight training courses conducted by the Training Department recently.

The honouring ceremony was attended by Staff Brig (Navy) Ali Ahmad al-Budaid, director-general of Coasts and Borders Security, Brig Nasser al-Sayed, director of the Search and Follow-up Department, and Brig Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti, director of the Strategic Planning Department, along with several other officers.

The training included a foundation course on diving, first aid, maritime, English language, unified security system, computers and commanding boats, which were conducted for different sections of officers and employees working with various security departments.

Director-in-charge of the Training Department, Capt Abdul Rahman Ahmed al-Ibrahim, said the department was concerned with conducting various training programmes on an annual basis to derive maximum benefit and raise the efficiency and skill levels of officers in related fields. He stressed that the courses yielded good results and it was the fruit of co-operation between the Training Department and several other departments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI). He also lauded the participation of staff from a number of departments in the ministry in the courses, which contributed to the development of new prospects in the design and development of training curricula.

The director-general of Coasts and Borders Security felicitated the graduates and distributed certificates.
