Traffic diversion on Al Rayyan Road

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced a temporary traffic diversion on Al Rayyan Road effective from April 24. The eastbound diversion (South side of Al Rayyan) will stretch from February 22 Roundabout to the Sports Roundabout at the intersection of Jassim Bin Hamad with Al Rayyan Road. It will be in place for 18 months.

Traffic on Al Rayyan Road is being diverted while maintaining the three existing lanes. This diversion is for the construction of an underpass beneath Al Rayyan Road as part of the Al Rayyan Road Project. The underpass will allow motorists coming from Al Rayyan Road and driving eastbound to access the Jassim Bin Hamad Street without having to drive to the Sports Roundabout.

The underpass will also allow vehicles heading southbound along Jassim Bin Hamad Street to reach the Sports Roundabout without having to pass through the 22 February Roundabout.

The westbound carriageway, Northside of Al Rayyan Road from the Sports Roundabout to 22 February Roundabout will remain open for the time being and a similar traffic diversion will be put in place at a later time, in a way that does not affect the commuters.
