The 2014-15 National Basketball Association season has had its share of memorable moments. From the spectacular run of the Atlanta Hawks on their way to the top seed in the Eastern Conference to the Golden State Warriors run to the top of the Western Conference the season has seen its share of moments that have left fans in awe. One of the other teams in the Western Conference that qualified for their right to compete in the NBA playoffs is the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers finished the regular season with a 56-26 record. They finished second to the Warriors in the Pacific Division and are the third overall seed in the conference.
Their incredible record has set them up for a first round showdown with the defending NBA Finals champions the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are one of the best teams in the history of the NBA and this series will be one of the most exciting of the entire first round. The Clippers will be led in this series (and others if their fans have any say) by some of the best players in the NBA.
Leading the way as always for the Clippers is one of the best all-around players in the sport Blake Griffin. Griffin the 26-year-old is the fifth year superstar average 21.9 points per game this past season and set a career high in free throw percentage and three-point percentage despite playing in just 67 games. A healthy Griffin could take the Clippers past the Spurs and through the top teams in the Western Conference on their way to the NBA Finals.
The Clippers won’t be able to do it only because of Griffin. They will need the play of CP3 Chris Paul. Paul 29 is competing in his 10th professional season and will be looking to reach deeper into the playoffs than he ever has before. He is coming off a season that saw him average 19.1 ppg while starting all 82 games in the regular season. He set a career high in free throw percentage and could be the deciding factor in the Clippers postseason run.
Griffin and Paul will also be aided by other stars on the roster including DeAndre Jordan Matt Barnes and sharp-shooting guard J.J. Redick. On the bench for the Clippers there are players that have been down this road before including Jamal Crawford Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu.
