(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Dr Christian Cardona Malta's Minister for Economy Investment and Small Business visited on Tuesday Oman's flagship Rusayl Industrial Estate which is affiliated to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).
Dr Cardona and the accompanying delegation were received by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani CEO of PEIE who gave a brief on PEIE which was established in 1993. Today PEIE manages a line-up of industrial estates comprising Rusayl Sohar Raysut Nizwa Sur Buraimi Samail in addition to the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) Al Mazyunah Free Zone and Ibri Logistics Area.
Al Hasani also elaborated on the objectives of PEIE which include attracting foreign investments to the sultanate and localising the national capital; contributing to stimulating the private sector to achieve sustainable economic and social development. The delegation was also briefed on the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) the technical arm of PEIE. Opened in 2003 Knowledge Oasis Muscat is the Sultanate of Oman's flagship technology park.
Afterward the minister visited Poly Products LLC (Raha) within Rusayl Industrial Estate where he was introduced to the company's history and track record. Poly Products LLC was established in 1979 and has become a leading manufacturer of superior quality bedding and other sleep related products as well as comfort related products in the Sultanate of Oman.
The company's products cater to the needs of both the domestic household segment as well as the contracts segment of leading hotel chains and other reputed institutions. The delegation praised the sultanate's investment opportunities and hailed the development efforts made in the industrial sector and the role it plays in boosting small and medium enterprises.
