Israeli vehicle runs over Palestinian child in W. Bank

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) A Palestinian child was seriously injured on Monday after being run over by an Israeli military vehicle in the West Bank city of Nablus.

"A nine-year-old child was run over by an Israeli army vehicle on a road linking Nablus to Hawara town," Ghassan Daghlas, the Palestinian official in charge of the Israeli settlements file in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, told The Anadolu Agency.

He said the child had been rushed to the Hadassah medical center by an Israeli ambulance.

It's still unclear whether the child was intentionally run over by the Israeli vehicle.

Israeli authorities have yet to comment on the report.

Recent months have seen an upsurge in Palestinian knife attacks on Israelis, especially following Israel's military onslaught on the Gaza Strip last summer in which more than 2,150 Gazans were killed.
