Saudi- 12407 devices fail energy test
(MENAFN- Arab News) A total of 12407 devices including 9824 air-conditioners and 2583 washing machines have failed the Saudi standard and specifications test.
The commission of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) and Saudi Standards Metrology and Quality Org. (SASO) did not find the equipment energy efficient.
The commission inspected 17 factories and 1571 exhibitions and stores across the Kingdom and penalized the violators.
The inspections are a part of the Saudi energy efficiency program that aims at limiting power consumption.
