Mansour bin Mohammed honours winners of White Points Campaign


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday honoured the winners, sponsors and strategic partners of the White Points Campaign.

The winners received around AED2 million in prize money during the honouring ceremony organised by Dubai Police at Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa.

During the ceremony which was attended by top police officials, Dubai Police chief Maj Gen Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina noted that one of the main goals of Dubai Police is to reduce the number of road fatalities and use all technological and human resources to maximise safety.

Two motorists from Dubai won two brand new cars as reward for a safe year behind the wheel.

Layla Mohammad Mubarak and Ateeq Mubarak Saleh Sabousi were the top two names drawn from more than 1,500 people who did not commit a single traffic offence in 2014.

Ms Mubarak won a Hyundai Veloster and Mr Sabousi won also a brand new car.

To qualify to the White Points, drivers must not commit offences such as speeding, passing under Salik gates without credit or being issued traffic tickets in Dubai or the other emirates.

All the winners receive 24 white points two at the end of each month that they can use to waive minor traffic violations.
