Sultan Al Qasimi opens Arab Heritage Centre in Sharjah


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, today opened the Arab Heritage Centre in University City, Sharjah.

Upon his arrival, as folkloric songs were played, H.H. Sheikh Sultan was received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Central Department of Finance, Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Culture and Information Department, a number of officials and members of diplomatic corps in the country.

Sheikh Sultan unveiled a commemorative plaque for the centre, which will be affiliated to the Sharjah Heritage Institute. He toured the centre's facilities which include four halls designated to the four regions of the Arab world: the UAE and Arab Peninsula, Nile Valley and the Maghreb, and Levant and Mesopotamia Divisions.

Abdul Aziz Al Muslim, Chairman of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, praised the significant support of Sheikh Sultan to the institute in various fields, pointing out Sharjah Heritage Days, which embodies his tireless follow up and support.
