Pakistan condemns attack in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned the deadly attack in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan in which at least 33 people were killed and 100 others injured, said the Foreign Office.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said, "There was no justification to target the innocent people in blasts," adding that Pakistan itself is the victim of terrorism and it shares the grief and pain of their Afghan brethren.

Moreover, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemning the attack said that Pakistan will extend every possible cooperation to Afghanistan to eliminate the menace of terrorism. In a statement in federal capital Islamabad he said, "Pakistan and Afghanistan are making concerted efforts to fight the menace of terrorism, which is common enemy of both countries." He said that such cowardly acts couldnآ't weaken "our resolve against terrorism". The Prime Minister said Pakistan has destroyed the network and hideouts of terrorists and war on terror will continue till elimination of last terrorist.

Earlier in the day, at least 33 people were killed and more than hundred others injured in a series of deadly suicide blasts in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
