ProEx (www.proexpt.com)  a physical therapist-owned private practice specializing in orthopedics spine and sports medicine today announced the acquisition of Legacy Physical Therapy in Amesbury MA.

Legacy Physical Therapy founded in 2011 is located at 110 Haverhill Road Suite 292 in Amesbury. Laura Berube Founder of Legacy Physical Therapy will continue to treat patients and will serve as Clinic Manager. The staff of three employees will join the ProEx team.

Michael J. Mulrenan Chief Executive Officer of ProEx said that under the terms of the acquisition Legacy Physical Therapy will continue to operate as before with the same therapists and administrative staff in place and will enjoy the support and expertise from the ProEx team. “We are pleased to welcome Laura and her staff to the ProEx team” said Mulrenan. “The Legacy team shares our commitment to excellent patient care and we will work together to facilitate a timely and seamless transition ensuring that our core beliefs patient care and clinical excellence are consistent all across our ProEx clinics.”

The sale price was not disclosed. With the addition of the Amesbury practice and the recent acquisition of Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation’s Salem and Beverly practices this brings the total number of ProEx locations to 13 across MA NH and CT.

Mulrenan said that the acquisition is extremely beneficial for ProEx in its overall growth strategy because it adds an additional location to the north eastern Massachusetts region and additional professionals to his growing firm. He said that the new ProEx team members will benefit from the advantages that a larger practice can offer including its robust benefit package clinical training programs and various career path opportunities.

ProEx plans to have an official ceremony and open house a little later in the year to celebrate the joining of the teams and to introduce the new members of the organization.
