QE index ends trading week with just 7.88 point loss


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Exchange index lost 7.88 points, or 0.07 percent, past trading week as the bourse closed at 11,979.83 points yesterday. However, the bourse gained 87.68 points, or 0.74 percent, on daily basis yesterday.

Trading value during the week increased by 18.71 percent to reach QR1.96bn compared to QR1.65bn. Trading volume increased by 0.07 percent to reach 44.23 million shares, as against 44.20 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 9.13 percent, to reach 25,097 transactions as compared to 22,997 transactions. Market capitalisation fell by 0.05 percent to reach QR643.5bn as compared to QR643.8bn at the end of previous week.

Industries sector led traded value the week with 43.2 percent of the total. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 21.58 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.88 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 9.57 percent.

Real Estate sector led traded volume during the week with 27.82 percent of the total. Industries sector accounted for 24.33 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 19.54 percent and Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 16.91 percent. Industries sector led traded number of transactions past week with 36.62 percent of the total number of transactions.

Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 22.10 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 17.20 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 11.13 percent.

From the 43 listed companies 19 ended the week higher, while 21 fell and three unchanged.

Gulf International Services (GIS) led traded value during the week accounted for 32.07 percent of the total traded value. Vodafone Qatar accounted for 7.52 percent and Barwa Real Estate accounted for 7.47 percent.

However yesterday, the market capitalisation increased to QR643.50bn from QR638.83bn registered on Wednesday. The trading value increased to QR468.64m with a volume of 11 million shares from 6,357 transactions compared to QR309.12m with a volume of 7 million shares from 4,584 transactions Wednesday. Indices of all sectors advanced, except real estate, down 0.31 percent to 2,563.72 points. Industries and consumer goods and services indices shared joint lead yesterday with both up 1.37 percent. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.74 percent (18,615.72 points). QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 1.03 percent (4,520.53 points). QSE All Share Index gained 0.69 percent (3,196.53 points).From the 43 listed companies, shares of 39 saw trading today. From these, 25 advanced, nine declined and five remained unchanged.
