Egypt to demolish Mubark's party headquarters


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Egyptian government has announced it has approved the demolition of the headquarters of former President Hosni Mubarak's political party.

A statement released by the government said that the headquarters of the National Democratic Party, will be demolished by the army corpse of engineers .

The National Democratic Party (NDP) building, is a concrete tower block that looms over the River Nile in Cairo. The building was gutted during the uprising against Mubarak's rule in 2011, and served as a potent symbol of the revolt.

The NDP was dissolved by a court order in April 2011.
