German forecasters hike growth outlook to 2.1 per cent


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Germany's leading economic institutes on Thursday dramatically raised their growth outlook for Europe's biggest economy this year as both exports and private consumption are on the upswing, dpa reported.

The German economy is expected to expand 2.1 per cent, thanks to a
slump in oil prices and a weaker euro, the four institutes - Berlin's
DIW, Munich's Ifo, Essen's RWI and the Halle research group - said in
improving their October forecast of 1.6 per cent.
