UK Politician Reveals he has quit smokingThanks to Vaping.

(MENAFNEditorial)

In a statement to the Daily Mail Nick Clegg said;
‘At the moment at least for the last several weeks I am off the fags and on the vapes. I’ve got some hilariously termed multi-voltage thing.
‘I haven’t smoked a cigarette in weeks. I’m not 100 per cent sure what the effect on my health is of these new battery powered things’ he laughs.
‘You can put all different flavours in it. I have tried the blueberry it’s good. I recommend the blueberry vape. That’s quite different to the Marlboro Lights.'

He has tried to stop smoking cigs before but like many other s have ended up back on them. Surely it's a great thing however this is quite a contradictory turn of events. On June 10th at the EU summit in Brussels it was voted on to ban E-cigs as they are today and severely restrict them. This is likely largely due to the unknown health concerns.

It is worth noting here that 10 of the 12 MEPS in Nick Cleggs party the Liberal Democrats voted to ban ecigs and now the front man of the party is openly endorsing them.

It would help a lot of consumers would choose their products more carefully E-cigs as devices are by and large safe with little to no evidence to support that the devices themselves cause any harm. The health concerns come into play when we consider where the liquid is sourced. If consumers would choose more carefully then the need to restrict ecigs would not be such an issue. Nick Clegg being a prime example here. By his statement:

“You can put all different flavours in it I have tried the Blueberry its good”

You can tell he has not taken care to ensure what he is putting into his body is clean or tested and is likely produced In China with little or no regulations. If he looked at a company such as pure-eliquids he could choose some high quality tested Eliquid and you can find out exactly whats in the eliquid. This is largely the problem – a lot of other companies simply don't provide this information and dont supply any evidence that every batch of their eliquid is tested.

Furthermore to that pure-eliquids for example offers a minimal flavour selection to ensure total purity. But Nick Clegg is vaping Blueberry so this implies it is a sub-standard eliquid he is vaping and he has no idea what it is doing to his health.

Multiple studies have found harsh chemicals found in Eliquids such as harmful TSNAs (tobacco-specific nitrosamines) which are carcinogenic and really is exactly the kind of chemicals that you should not be injesting after making the move from combustible cancer causing regular cigarettes to cleaner safer ecigs.

As a final footnote its noteworthy that 100000 people a year die from smoking related illness in the UK. We all know E-cigs would significantly reduce this figure if not almost eradicate it completely with the help of clean pure and tested Eliquid coming to the market as the EU legislation finally catches up with the sub-standard eliquid being produced and hopefully we can come to some kind of middle ground where clean eliquid is freely available people are encouraged to make the switch. - However the far more likely scenario based on events on the 10th July at the EU summit suggest that 99% of Eliquid especially flavoured will be banned. So looks like Nick Clegg is going to have to put down his Blueberry Ecig after all thanks to his party voting to ban ecigs. Oh well – Back to regular cigs then Nick.
