(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Pakistan on Wednesday has welcomed the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution on Yemen issue and called for its implementation in letter and spirit, said Foreign Office.
Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson, Tasnim Aslam in a statement in federal capital Islamabad said that the UNSC resolution endorses Pakistan's viewpoint on the Yemen crisis.
"Pakistan is pleased to note that this GCC led initiative in the Security Council conforms with Pakistan's stated position on the situation in Yemen, in particular our strong support for the unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Yemen and the legitimate Government of President Hadi, condemnation of the actions of the Houthis and our call for resolution of the situation through inclusive dialogue," said the statement.
Pakistan calls for full and effective implementation of the resolution, it added.
The statement by the Foreign Office came on the day when a high level delegation of Pakistan left for Saudi Arabia for consultations with the Senior Saudi Officials.
