UAE invests USD2.11b in Italy in 2014

(MENAFN) The investments made by the UAE in Italy surpassed USD2.11 billion in 2014, with forecasts that the figure is yet to increase, according to the Italian Ambassador, Gulf News reported.

The bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD6.57 billion in 2014, which is equivalent of more than 50 percent of Italy's trade with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

However, Italian exportations to the UAE were recorded at USD5.72 billion, and importations from the gulf country into Italy reached USD635.92 million in 2014.

"Due to the potential investments in Italy across most of the economic sectors, we are expecting further investments from the UAE in the coming two years," the Ambassador said.
