UN Security Council slaps arm embargo on Houthis, Saleh forces in Yemen


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The UN Security Council slapped on Tuesday an arms embargo on Houthis and supporters of the former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Russia abstained from Tuesday's vote, while 14 members backed the resolution. The resolution also demands that the Houthis pull back from Sana'a and refrain from more violence. It includes sanctions aimed at controlling the spread of terrorism.

It called on all parties to immediately cease the violence.
