Obama to welcome UAE Crown Prince to White House Mon.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) US President Barack Obama will meet at the White House on Monday with Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to consult on a wide range of regional and bilateral issues, the White House announced on Tuesday.

"The United States and the United Arab Emirates share strong ties, and the two leaders will explore how to further strengthen this partnership in areas ranging from defense cooperation to climate change," the announcement said.

They will also discuss joint efforts to counter ISIL and address violent extremism; the recent framework between Iran and the Permanent 5 members of the United Nations plus Germany to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon; cooperation with respect to Yemen; and how best to resolve the conflicts in Libya and Syria, the statement said.
