Egyptian Pres. discusses Operation Decisive Storm with Saudi Defence Min.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi discussed on Tuesday with visiting Saudi Defence Minister Prince Mohammad bin Salman the latest developments of Operation Decisive Storm.

The two sides also tackled ways to establish stability and security in Yemen and maintain its Arab identity, according to a statement by Egypt's Presidential Spokesman Alaa Yusuf.

Yusuf said the Egyptian leader stressed on his country's support of Arab nations and defend Arab rights.

According to the statement, president Al-Sisi said the Arabian Gulf security is a red line for Egypt and is an integral part of its national security, where the security of the region is directly linked to the Egyptian vital interests, particularly in the Red Sea and the Strait of Bab Al-Mandeb.

For his part, the statement noted that Prince Mohammad praised Egyptian supportive stance to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the security of the Arabian Gulf, praising its Arab active role to promote Arab joint action at all levels.

The statement pointed out that the meeting also dealt with the role of culture and the media as a means to raise awareness among citizens, and convey the facts relating to all issues in the Arab region.

The meeting was attended by the General Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence Sedqi Sobhi, Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel Al-Turaifi, and the two country's intelligence chiefs.
