Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Australia Discuss Developing Cooperation Ties


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) hosted today a meeting of the Saudi-Australian business sector within the framework of supporting the cooperation aspects of the economic and trade relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them.

This came in the presence of Australian Minister of Trade and Investment Andrew John Robb and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; CSC Deputy Chairman Saleh Al-Afaliq; Saudi Ambassador to Australia Nabil bin Mohammed Al Saleh; Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ralph King and the Chairman and members of the Saudi-Australian Joint Business Council.

During the meeting, they emphasized the excellent relations between the two countries, particularly at trade and investment levels as well as agriculture, food security, education, technical training, health care, infrastructure, mining, services and other areas.

For his part, the Australian Ambassador highlighted the strong economic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Australia, calling for continuing the work and joint coordination between the two sides on issues of common interest, especially with regard to the free trade agreement between Australia on the one hand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, on the other hand to increase investment and trade volume.
