Saudi- SR800m corniche expansion under way


(MENAFN- Arab News) The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has started the SR800 million fourth and fifth phases of the corniche expansion project part of several initiatives to develop waterfront areas in the Kingdom.
The length of the project is 4.5 km starting from Nawras in the south to the corniche intersection with Jibreen bin Harith Street in the north according to a report in a local publication recently.
It will include footpaths sculptures botanical gardens footbridges fountains waterfalls and pools of water in different shapes. There will also be a cafe for families lighting in all areas and surveillance cameras.
The ministry plans to provide public toilets including those accessible for a fee and a games area for children of all ages. There will also be a jetty running into the sea for fishing and water taxis. The project will have several parking lots and an underground waste system.
