Saudi cabinet welcomes Bahah as Yemen's Vice Pres.

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Saudi cabinet on Monday welcomed a decision by Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi a day earlier appointing Khaled Mahfouz Bahah as Vice President.

Bahah, who retains the Prime Minister's post, took the oath earlier on Monday before Hadi at the Yemeni embassy in Riyadh.

The cabinet viewed the move as a "step toward restoring security and stability to Yemen." Today's ministers' meeting, presided over by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, was briefed on the developments of the Saudi-led coalition's "Operation Decisive Storm" to defend legitimacy in Yemen, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The meeting discussed a host of reports on developments on the regional, Arab and international scenes.

The cabinet lauded the humanitarian efforts of the campaign protecting civilians, evacuating foreigners and providing relief aid in cooperation with international organizations.

The Saudi cabinet, in the meantime, condemned the Houthi militias for "terrifying people with heavy artillery and tanks (inside Yemeni) cities."
