(MENAFN) According to the Bank of Japan, the country's wholesale prices, excluding the impact of last year's consumption tax hike, dropped 2.1 percent in March, QNA reported.
The central bank said in a report that the index of corporate goods prices slid for the fifth straight month to 100.6 against the 2010 base of 100, following a revised 2.4 percent decrease in February.
Including the effect of the 3 percent consumption tax increase to 8 percent in April 2014, the country's wholesale prices rose 0.7 percent to 103.5, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.
