Kuwait, Iran to sign natural gas agreement

(MENAFN) Iran's government is set to sign oil and energy agreement with Kuwait to export natural gas to the Gulf country, according to the chief of National Iranian Gas Company, Arabian Business reported.

The chief also stated that his company intends to export gas to neighboring Iraq. The other gulf country Kuwait is said to be in dire needs for natural gas supplies, according to Kuwait's oil minister on the sidelines of a press meeting.

"There is capacity to export gas to Kuwait via Iraq, and this plan can become operational if a contract is signed," the Kuwaiti oil ministry said, commenting on the prospect enterprise, which the country has been mulling over it since last year.
