Mohamed bin Zayed meets French Foreign Minister


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met here this evening with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

They discussed ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance them. They also reviewed bilateral strategic cooperation and ways to enhance coordination and collaboration to achieve mutual interests.

The meeting also touched on regional developments and the progress in the operations being carried out by the alliance to maintain stability and security of Yemen, to support its legitimate government and to stop regional interventions that threaten strategic security in the region.

The two sides emphasised the importance of supporting regional and international efforts aimed at strengthening security, peace and stability in the region and helping the countries there to counter threats and challenges, including those of terrorism, violence and extremism, and to confront the groups that are trying to impose themselves as an alternative to the legitimate national state.

Also discussed were a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

In attendance during the meeting were Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA), and Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bowardi, advisor to the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
