Kuwait bourse begins new week with mixed performance


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Stock Exchange's benchmark rose 14.5 points reaching 6,292 in early trades upon opening the new week's first session on Sunday.

Weighted index posted mild fall, 0.07, while Kuwait-15 index lost 1.45 points.

Value of traded shares amounted to KD 1.29 million, volume of exchanged stocks stood at 16.1 million, done in 403 transactions.

According to a report, released by Bayan Investment Company over the weekend, the KSE market capital reached KD 27.28 billion, rising by 0.12 percent, in the past week, as compared to the week before, where it stood at KD 27.24 billion.

Al-Oula Brokerage Co. said in an identical report that the KSE trading, last week, was distinguished with hefty speculations and intensive individuals' activity adding that these operations were largely stagnant due to limited activity by collective investors, such as portfolios and funds.

The KSE closed the past week sessions with the price index rising 22 to 6,277 points, while the weighted index dropped by 1.8 points and Kuwait 15 by 8.15 points.

USD is currently traded at KD 0.300.
