Saudi Minister arrives in Pakistan for talks with leadership

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Minister for Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh arrived in federal capital Islamabad on Sunday to hold talks with Pakistani leadership.

In a statement to media on his arrival, he said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close brotherly and friendly relations and these relations will grow further.

In context to the recent resolution passed by Pakistani parliament to stay neutral in Yemen crisis, the Minister said, "The unanimous passage of resolution by the Pakistan parliament is its internal matter." Earlier on Friday, lawmakers passed a resolution on the fifth day of Pakistan's joint parliamentary session on Yemen crisis; proposing that Pakistan should maintain neutrality in the conflict so as to be able to play a proactive diplomatic role to end the crisis.

The motion came after Saudi Arabia had asked Pakistan to contribute ships, aircraft and troops to a military campaign it has launched against the Houthis militia.
