Canada's unemployment unchanged at 6.8 percent

(MENAFN) According to Canada's statistical agency, unemployment rate in the country remained unchanged at 6.8 percent in March, despite creating 29,000 new jobs, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The stable unemployment rate met analysts' expectation, but the net new jobs for the month was unpredicted, as it followed a minor loss in February. Employment rose in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Overall there were more people working in retail and wholesale trade, transportation and warehousing, educational services and natural resources in March, the statistical agency said.
