U.S. "deeply troubled" by summary executions in Ukraine
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) U.S. State Department Spokesman Jeff Rathke on Thursday said U.S. officials "are deeply troubled by reports of summary executions of captured Ukrainian security forces by Russian-backed separatists."
"These serious accusations must be thoroughly and transparently investigated, and any perpetrators must be held to account," Rathke said during a department briefing.
The statement came in a reaction to a recent Amnesty International report that is focused on human rights issues in Ukraine.
