Egypt- Security forces disperse protest, arrest photojournalist


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Security forces dispersed a protest in Cairo's Al-Waraq neighbourhood on Friday, state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper reported.
According to Al-Ahram, a Giza Ministry of Interior official, Tarek Nasr, confirmed extra security presence Friday morning to halt any attempts to hold demonstrations.
Moreover, security forces dispersed another protest in the Cairo neighbourhood of Mattariya and arrested a photojournalist, according to 'Journalists Against Torture'.
Meanwhile, the 'Anti-Coup Alliance', which primarily consists of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group among other political parties, called for a new wave of demonstrations in a Thursday statement entitled "stop the execution of the nation".
Clashes between protesters and security forces have become a common weekly occurrence over since the ouster of former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi. Thousands have been killed and arrested in demonstrations, according to human rights organisations.
