(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Government officials in Guyana are delivering water to thousands of people living in the South American country's remote jungle communities amid a worsening drought.
Cabinet Secretary Roger Luncheon says wells and small creeks have dried up around Amerindian communities located near the borders with Brazil and Venezuela.
He said Friday that pests also have been destroying crops that have survived the increasingly dry conditions.
The rainy season is expect to start in May and lasts until August.
