(MENAFN- Gulf Times) ExxonMobil Qatar has announced that it continued to strengthen its Tamayoz training programme in Doha with a series of courses that reached more than 130 attendees from January to March.
The courses focused on four competency areas: commercial; safety, health and the environment; technical; and operations excellence. All initiatives in the Tamayoz programme are led by ExxonMobil subject-matter experts.
"The Tamayoz training programme emphasises ExxonMobil's ongoing commitment to provide the energy that fuels human potential, in line with the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030," said Alistair Routledge, president and general manager of ExxonMobil Qatar. "The Tamayoz programme adds value to Qatar through professional and personal development of the employees of Qatar Petroleum (QP) and our joint ventures, by sharing knowledge and experience gathered over many years in the industry."
The 2015 Tamayoz calendar kicked off in late January with the Economic Analysis course, which provided an introduction to the elements of financial evaluation that are key to making informed business decisions. Also within the commercial subject-matter area, the Negotiation Fundamentals course was held in late February for early career professionals, helping them hone their skills in negotiation and influencing others to make positive impacts on their projects and business.
In March, ExxonMobil Qatar held two technical Tamayoz courses. The Cased Hole and Production Logging course provided attendees with a better understanding of the appropriate logging tools and interpretation techniques required in their specialised roles, while the Corrosion Engineering course helped engineers develop an understanding of corrosion mechanisms and introduced the concept of a corrosion management system.
In addition to the technical courses, a suite of safety, health and environment courses was offered, covering a diverse range of topics. The Upstream Environmental, Socioeconomic and Health Management Process course provided participants with a systematic approach for assessing risks and impacts and developing management plans.
The Environmental Technologies course provided an insight of environmental professionals on a range of environmental technologies. Finally, the Environmental Monitoring course helped participants understand environmental aspect assessment and environmental monitoring through the upstream lifecycle.
The Fundamentals of Production Best Practices course € the highlight of the quarter - ran in late March, helping mid-career leaders understand how to apply best practices to the business and work together to achieve operations excellence.
The training programme € launched in support of HH the Emir's vision to increase the participation of Qatari nationals in the workforce € provides professional and personal development opportunities for valued partner QP and joint ventures RasGas and Qatargas. Over 115 courses have been offered to ExxonMobil partners free of charge with more than 1,600 individuals receiving training since its inception in 2012.
