Wakrah residents complain of long lines at inspection centre

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Many citizens have complained of long queues at the automobile technical inspection centre in Wakrah due to its "inability" to handle the increasing number of vehicles visiting the place, local daily Arrayah has reported.

They have called for the establishment of a new technical inspection building in the area due to the rush and also in view of the significant rise in the area's population over the last four years, the daily said.

The new building should have a waiting room for motorists as well as offices of the Traffic Department and insurance companies as found at the technical inspection centre in the Industrial Area, according to the report.

\Meanwhile, some people have demanded that the validity of vehicle registration be extended to two years (from the current one year). They also want the exemption period for technical inspection for new cars to be increased to five years - from the date of manufacture- from the current three, the report further stated.
