Dubai's Dewa saves USD204.69m on efficiency measures


(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has saved USD204.69 million through various energy efficiency measures it adopted over the last few years, Emirates 24/7 reported.

Between 2009 and 2014, it managed to save 1,163 GWh of electricity and 5.4 billion imperial gallons of water which is equivalent to USD204.69 million, and over 536,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Recently, Dewa achieved a reduction in electricity use of 305 MWh and a reduction of 183 tons of carbon dioxide emissions when Dubai joined thousands of other cities in Earth Hour.
