Dubai — The American Hospital Dubai marked World Health Day with free health checks for the community at the hospital’s Dubai Media City clinic which opened recently.

A range of free health checks like blood pressure monitoring blood glucose test blood cholesterol test BMI (body mass index) and vitamin D level tests were offered to over 300 people. The issue highlighted through the screening was the common incidence of elevated blood pressure which if left untreated could lead to hypertension and other health complications.

Dr Edward White US Board Certified primary care physician at the clinic commented: “Certain conditions such as high blood pressure levels will create serious health problems that patients may not recognise until it’s too late leading to heart attacks and stroke; if we can track blood pressure then we can help keep patients healthy. The new clinic is designed to take care of patients closer to home and within the local community. We offer primary care services here and can take care of all members of the family.”
