LinkedIn to buy USD1.5b Lynda.com

(MENAFN) LinkedIn Corp. announced the buying of the professional career-educator website Lynda.com for a sum that reached USD1.5 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Lynda.com is a notorious website for its leading role in professional training videos. Lynda.com was initiated back in 1995. The transaction sets as LinkedIn's major acquisition.

With this deal, LinkedIn gets a great access to one of the prime online libraries of video tutorials, in addition to courses in fields that go from Web designing to digital photography.

"What has always made lynda a special company is a relentless focus on producing really high-quality content. Content has become more important to LinkedIn over the last year," a board member at lynda.com said.
