300 Chinese firms to take part in Made in China expo in Qatar


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) At least 300 major Chinese companies will participate in the 'Made in China 2015" exhibition to be hosted by Qatar from December 14-16, 2015. The organisers are expecting at least 30,000 visitors to the three-day event.

Deputy General Manager of Qatar Chamber (QC) Saleh Hamad Al Sharqi told reporters yesterday that more than 50 percent of the exhibition's total space has already been booked and that more than 30,000 visitors are expected to visit the three-day exhibition.

Qatar hosts a series of exhibitions and foreign expos by various countries to introduce their respective products to the Qatari market.

The 'Made in China Exhibition' demonstrates China's interest in Qatar as well as the need to promote Chinese products since it is a leading commercial and investment hub.

Qatar has become the focus of attention of many investors and there is a growing interest in organizing various exhibitions in all sectors in Qatar, Al Sharqi said.

He noted that a delegation representing the 50 Chinese companies will visit Doha next month in order to meet Qatari businessmen and explore investment opportunities in Qatar as well as participate in the 'Made in Qatar Exhibition.

Cui Bin, Director from Economic & Commercial Counselor's office of Embassy of China in Qatar said many reputable Chinese companies and products will be showcased in the exhibition.

"As we know, Qatar is still expanding the project investment to fulfill the nation vision 2030 and to host the FIFA 2022 world cup, there will be many new opportunities for China-Qatar cooperation. I wish the Made in China Exhibition will be a new bridge for the mutual cooperation, offering convenience and assistance for China enterprises and product's entering into Qatar market.

Gavin, General Manager of Abdulaziz Jassim Exhibitons & Events, partner and exclusive contractor for "Made in China 2015" China is currently working on to change the popular perception that "Chinese products are cheap and poor in terms of quality".

He said a team of quality assurance officials will be visiting Qatar during "Made in China 2015" exhibition.
